Remote Coastal Nature Hike
Remote Coastal Nature Hike
Haines is among the sunniest hiking destinations in Southeast Alaska, with significantly less annual precipitation than other locations.
We will eat lunch overlooking a black pebble beach and Lynn Canal while the towering Coastal and Chilkat Ranges surround us. Our lunches consist of smoked salmon wraps stuffed with salmon, herbal cream cheese and veggies, with fresh fruit, a home baked cookie, sun chips, boxed juice, and bottled water on the side. A vegetarian option is also available.
Your guides will entertain you with stories about the natural and cultural history of the Upper Lynn Canal and of life in rural Alaska. They will also share secrets to better fitness through hiking and how to prepare for more strenuous hikes and outings.
From mountain goats to marsh marigolds and eagles to edible seaweed this hike has something for every nature enthusiast. So escape from the crowds and join us for a beautiful hike along the deepest fjord in North America!
Praise from clients on the Remote Coastal Nature Hike:
“The best guide we had on our while trip to Alaska!!!”
“An excellent sense of pace, an extreme depth of knowledge and an outstanding personality. I went with Chessie because she was the “best birder” of the guides available. She would rank as number 1--and I have gone with “experts” in Newfoundland, Cape May, and Costa Rica. She topped my day by finding me a life bird (Wilson’s Warbler) to finish up. Since I can’t take her home with me, we’ll have to settle for this praise!!!”
“The Nature HIke on the Skagway stop was extraordinary. Wish I could do it every day!”
An incredible opportunity to join our renowned guides along a coastal trail through the largest temperate rain forest in the world! Explore the sights, sounds, smells, and even tastes of Southeast Alaska’s forests.
